Attendance

Why does regular school attendance matter?

If children don’t show up for school regularly, they miss out on fundamental reading and math skills and the chance to build a habit of good attendance that will carry them into college and careers.

Building a consistent routine around a foundation of regular school attendance also supports student mental health and wellbeing. Your student’s teachers work hard to build positive and supportive relationships as trusted adults in their life. Connecting with friends and classmates in person is also an important part of each day.

A New, Easier Way to Report Student Absences Online

We are excited to announce a new, easy way for families to report student absences online using the Infinite Campus parent portal.

You will be able to notify your student’s school about same-day or future absences by following these steps:

  1. Log in to Infinite Campus
  2. Scroll to the “Shortcuts” box and select “Absence Request”
  3. Select your student, absence reason, and absence type, and click submit

The video below provides detailed visual instructions.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact your school office. We are excited to offer this convenient, online option to meet the needs of our Lindbergh families.

Why is arriving on time so important?

  • We start our day connecting as a classroom/school community
  • Even 15 minutes of lost learning time can add up over multiple days
  • Keeping a consistent schedule each day helps your student build healthy habits to support success in not only school, but also in life after graduation

Why are we telling you this?

Many student absences are excused and unavoidable, but they still add up to lost time in the classroom. We are asking you to help make school attendance a priority. You can do this by:

  • Speaking with your students about the importance of showing up every day
  • Helping them to maintain daily routines such as finishing homework and getting a good night’s rest
  • Doing your best to keep your child healthy
  • Scheduling medical and dental appointments outside school hours when possible
