Superintendent
The superintendent of schools is Lindbergh's instructional leader and chief executive officer. The superintendent is responsible for the quality of the district's curriculum, educational programs and support systems, the management of the schools and the administration of all district policies and procedures.
It is the superintendent's responsibility to make recommendations to the Board of Education, and to successfully implement all district policies and procedures approved by the board. As the only employee hired and supervised by the board, the superintendent provides leadership and counsel to the board in the development of the district's mission and goals. Additionally, the superintendent provides professional support and advice on all matters considered by the board.
Dr. Tony Lake
Dr. Tony Lake has served as superintendent of Lindbergh Schools since 2018 and previously was Chief Operations Officer of Blue Valley School District in Overland Park, Kan. He began his career in education in 1991, and advanced into public school administration in 2001.
“Excellence in Learning. Designing the Future.” is the Why behind everything Lindbergh does to prepare students for success through personalized instruction and a focus on collaboration, creativity, communication and critical thinking. The district serves more than 7,600 students in one high school, two middle schools, six elementary schools and two early childhood education centers. We are home to eight National Schools of Character and six National Blue Ribbon Schools.
Under Dr. Lake’s leadership, the district passed a $150 million bond referendum in 2024 to improve safety and traffic flow districtwide, create equitable educational experiences across elementary schools, provide much-needed middle school renovations and build a Pk-12 agricultural STEM learning center. He also led a successful $105 million bond referendum to add secure entry vestibules district wide and build a flexible, future-ready high school; deployed 1-to-1 devices for students, implemented the Canvas learning management system, developed a Master Facility Plan, and partnered with St. Louis Community College’s Early College Program and St. Louis CAPS.
Dr. Lake earned his doctorate and master’s degrees in educational leadership from Baker University in Overland Park, and bachelor of science in education from John Brown University in Arkansas.

Dr. Tony Lake has served as the superintendent of Lindbergh Schools since 2018.
Listening and Learning Tour
Each fall, Superintendent Dr. Tony Lake visits with members of the Lindbergh community to discuss the district’s work and gather feedback from students, teachers, families, and residents. This annual Listening and Learning Tour is an opportunity for community members to learn about district initiatives.
Participants are also asked to complete a survey to share their thoughts with the district. This annual presentation provides an opportunity for Dr. Lake to meet members of the community and receive feedback on the District's work and priorities.
