Charge Procedure and Payments

Charge Procedure

Recent guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture requires school districts to provide written notice of meal charge procedures. Unless meals are provided at no charge, the district prefers students to pay for meals prior to receipt. The ability to charge meals is a privilege, not a right, and is subject to the limitations established in this procedure.

At the beginning of each school year, a copy of this procedure will be provided to every family in the district as required by law. A copy of this procedure will also be provided to all building administrators, staff responsible for collecting payment for meals at the point of service, staff involved with notifying families about account balances, social workers, nurses, counselors, the district liaison for homeless students, and any other staff who regularly assist students in need.

Prepayment System

Southwest Foodservice Excellence uses the infinite Campus Portal accounting system to record student payments and purchases throughout the year. Please remember the following:

  • Establish your student's meal account before school starts
  • Please allow 24 hours for balances to show in the student's account.
  • Prepayment online is preferred 
  • Checks may be made payable to Lindbergh Schools Food Service, with the student's name and amount enclosed in a prepayment envelope Prepayment envelopes are available in each school office, and at each deposit box. 
  • Cash is accepted but online payment or check is preferred. 
  • Prepayments can be made by logging into Infinite Campus.
  • After the start of school, prepayments can be delivered to the office or the black deposit boxes that have been installed throughout the school. These deposits will be collected once daily. 
  • Prepayment deposits are recommended weekly or monthly to avoid negative student account balances

Online Payments

Infinite Campus allows you to pay in advance for meals and á la carte items, including milk, juice and snacks.

  • Log into Infinite Campus
    • In the left hand menu, select Food Service
    • Select your student
    • Select Pay and add your dollar amount
    • Select Add to Cart
    • Select My Cart 
    • Add your payment method and submit payment

There is a nominal service fee per transaction. Students will still have the option to deposit cash or a check on a daily basis, but we recommend that all students use their prepaid account to ensure speed of service.

Auto Pay Setup Option

Begin by logging into Infinite Campus.

  • Select Recurring Payments.
  • Select Food Service.
  • Select a Frequency Option: Weekly, Semi-Monthly (1st and 15th of Month), Monthly or Low Balance.
  • Select the Payment Method you want to use and the email address for Infinite Campus to send the receipt to.
  • Select Save

Account Balances

Balances from the previous school year will be carried forward to the new school year, and from school to school.

You can view balances and daily transactions in Infinite Campus

Families are notified of low or negative balances via weekly emails. A parent or caregiver can request a refund or transfer of available funds to another student's account by emailing foodservice@lindberghschools.ws
