Lindbergh High School senior Ray Wilson was honored as the 2012 Missouri Eagle Scout of the Year at the American Legion 94th Annual State Convention in Jefferson City, on July 14. Ray was selected for his practical citizenship in the community, church, school and scouting.
When Ray was 13, he began working on his Eagle project to raise funds and build a Fallen Soldier Memorial in Fenton Community Park. The project took close to two years and is now on display at the park’s Heroes Memorial. For his ambitious project, Ray was nominated for 2012 Missouri Eagle Scout of the Year by VFW Post #400 in Fenton.
Ray also was selected to attend Missouri Boys State this summer, at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
“It was a fast paced educational program designed to test your citizenship, leadership and scholastic abilities,” he said.
